HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm back, if only temporarily, in the blogging community.

Yesterday, my mom called me and told me that my grandmother, my Ama, is in the hospital after a stroke. My Ama lives in Singapore, so it's not possible to see her right now. I was deeply saddened, and that day was one of the most surreal of my life. I recieved the call at 10:40am. Initially I was quite shocked, but after I hung up, I just felt numb for an hour or so. I then fell to my knees, and prayed and cried out to God. The floodgates opened. I know what it actually means now to "cry out." Then I got mad, I yelled and whined at our Creator, how could he do this? Ama is not saved. You can't let her die without being saved!!!!

Soon after, I got up and flipped through the Bible, hoping God would show me something, anything. I landed on Luke 1:37 "For nothing is impossible with God." Show me something else Lord, so I then spotted Luke chapter 18 where Jesus describes the parable of the persistent widow. To paraphrase, it reads that in a certain town there was a judge who feared neither man nor God. One day a widow knocks on his door and pleas for justice against her adversary. He refuses, but after the widow's constant persistence, he grants her plea. Then it goes on to say," And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?"

I then headed to the laundromat, and while there a homeless guy came in mumbling for money. I ignored him, but outside in the parking lot, he came up to me again, asking for money for a donut. I then said "Okay, I'll buy you one", and he said "And coffee!", we walked 20 paces to the donut place. When he got his donut, I asked him if he went to church, and he cited some nearby catholic church. I asked him if he had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and not looking up, said "Many times." I explained to him that God calls us for a real relationship with Him, not just religious practices. He then looked up at me and said, " Got a quarter?" I asked him why and he said for a cigarette, I said I didn't  mind buying him food but not a cigarette. I then continued preaching, but he kept asking me for a quarter. I then decided that he wasn't completely lucid, so I said God bless and went back to my laundry.

A couple hours later, while driving to work, I remembered the story of the persistent widow and I said to God , over and over, "Please save Ama, please save Ama, please save Ama." After work, I had a chance to witness to one of my coworkers, we talked for about an hour in her car, I don't know if I made any sort of an effect, but I was glad to speak to her about Christ. Looking back, it was quite strange how God comforted me through the Bible and still used me, sinful and flawed as I am. Hallelujah. Lord ,let Your will be done. Let me praise You in all circumstances. I love You.

I just read an article on cnn.com and the front page story was about four missionaries being killed in Iraq. These people died as martyrs while spreading the good news. http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/03/16/missionaries/index.html

It made me think though.... what can we do here in the US? Yes, well it's simple, you may not want to or maybe cannot go overseas for missions, but perhaps you have not realized that that we have our very own missions field here in LA and Orange County!!!

Yes, friends, it's true! You too, can show foreigners (that is, foreigners to Christ) who Jesus is! Now you may ask, "But Jackie, how do I do such a thing?" I'm glad you asked, sometimes it may something quite simple.

Stand up for your morals, if a friend, classmate or co-worker makes a crude joke, don't try to show them up by telling an even cruder one, no, don't even laugh, the Bible says God does not like crude jesting.  What I do is I simply don't respond.

One of my co-workers is constantly cracking crude humor, I used to laugh, but I realized that I was only egging her on, I still talk to her, but I try to be very sly when she brings up the jokes, I either say nothing or change the subject.

Secondly, we can witness by our actions, as easy as it is to complain and whine about our "horrible lives" try to refrain. How will others see us as lights, if our flames are dim? ( No intellectual reference intended.)

I could go on and on, I just wanted to name a couple key things that cause me trouble in my walk. And don't, don't, DON"T be afraid to speak the name of our father, Jesus Christ! Yeah, he lives, and I'm gonna tell everyone he never died!

Many of us Christians are so scared to even say His name for fear that it will offend others. Well, would it offend you to find out that the person you could have told about Christ died the next day and you never had the chance?

Like a heard a pastor so correctly say once,"If we want to die for Jesus, we need to live for Him first."

Amen. Let it be bros and sis's. Spread the word. Jesus loves you. He died for you. Repent. The kingdom of heaven is near. You never know when you'll go. Are you prepared?

I have nothing relevant to say, but I did find really hilarious church bulletins, thanks to Netscape.

Just wanted to say "hell" to everyone! :)

The sermon this morning: "Jesus Walks on the Water."
The sermon tonight: "Searching for Jesus."

Our youth basketball team is back in action Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the recreation hall. Come out and watch us kill Christ the King.

Sunday School: Children will be led in sinning and Bible study.

A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the church hall. Music will follow.

The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict

Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Don't forget your husbands.

Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.

The Low Self-Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. Please use the back door.

Barbara remains in the hospital and needs blood donors for more transfusions. She is also having trouble sleeping and requests tapes of Pastor Jack's sermons.

Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles, and other items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to cripple children.

Potluck supper Sunday at 5 p.m. Prayer and medication to follow.

The associate minister unveiled the church's new tithing campaign slogan last Sunday: "I Upped My Pledge - Up Yours."

Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say "Hell" to someone who doesn't care much about you.

I hope this offends you..... if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your savior then you risk eternal separation from Him. We all go to one of two places when we die, heaven and hell. You decide.

Is it better to live the 80, 90, or if you're lucky, 100 years here on earth doing what you please, denying the Lord, and choosing a horrible fate, yes, hell, or living a victorious life in Jesus and kickin it with Him forever? You decide.

Friends, I hope you will not hate me for saying this, but the Lord has opened my eyes recently, by reading a book called "A Divine Revelation of Hell" and though I am not quite certain of the validity of the book, but it has given me a wake up call.

If you're a Christian then you should be boldly confessing your faith to others. Jesus says He is the only way. We may not have tomorrow, so let's live for Him now, and if you have not, seek Him now, while you can. He loves you and designed you to be with Him. The bible says if you will confess that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved.

If this has made you uncomfortable, then I've done my job, and I hope it will cause you to think of your life. I'm not perfect at all, by any means, I'm a sinner too, but through Jesus' blood, I am made clean. Do not be afraid of the gospel and preaching it people!!
